The US Constitution defines three separate (and supposedly equal) branches of government:
Unfortunately, today we have a fourth branch of government:
Administrative (or maybe called the Regulatory branch)
How did this happen?
The founders probably could not have anticipated this happening. In the day and age of the writing of the US Constitution, it was not anticipated that regulations would need to be created that were so specific that the Congressmen themselves could not write the words (or at least with the help of some assistants). Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jesús García interview Tom Homan, of ICE. They not only mischaracterize the law but insult the integrity of the man.
Thomas Douglas Homan is an American police officer and government official who served as Acting Director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from January 30, 2017 to June 29, 2018.
Later in the interview, Mr. Homan was called a racist to which he responded, “If you notice, I hesitated a minute before I started yelling? Because I actually think about getting up and throwing that man a beating right there in the middle of the room because when you tell somebody that’s spent their career saving lives that I don’t care about dying children and I’m a racist, that’s where I broke and that’s where I had enough,”
Surveillance cameras inside the store show about 60 boys and girls storming into the Walgreens at around 10 p.m. on 4th of July in Philadelphia.
This is a terrible display of wanton destruction and disregard for the law, personal safety, and personal property.
I am sure with all of these images, they will catch all of them. The solution is simple – lock them up for a LONG time.
This is organized crime. These young people gathered at this Walgreens and knew they were going to vandalize it and do massive robbery. By their sheer size of numbers, the employees of the Walgreens were unable to stop the destruction and it appears that objects were thrown at them by some of the hoodlums. Since they were are colluding together, they should all include the charge of aggravated assault on top of their acts of inciting a mob, vandalism, armed robbery, and trespassing.
An excellent view of America by a 26-year-old young lady from a Facebook post. Well written thoughts.
“I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of Democratic candidates calling for policies to “fix” the so-called injustices of capitalism.
I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook’s, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me.
We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times.
The Congressional Budget Office analyzed the impact of lifting the $7.25 federal minimum wage to $15 by 2025. The House is expected to vote next week on a bill to lift the federal minimum.
Raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025 would increase the pay of at least 17 million people and lift 1.3 million Americans out of poverty, but also put 1.3 million (and up to 3.7 million) Americans out of work, according to a study by the Congressional Budget Office.
The CBO predicted much bigger job losses than House Democrats, who have pushed for the $15 minimum wage, expected.
So let me get this straight, the higher minimum wage was expected to lift 1.3M Americans out of poverty but plunge 1.3M (and up to 3.7M) Americans into poverty. Wow! Maybe we should just keep the federal government out of our lives and tell them to keep arguing between themselves while we live our lives in peace and raise our children.
