There is no fourth branch of the federal government

There is no fourth branch of the federal government

The US Constitution defines three separate (and supposedly equal) branches of government:

  • Executive
  • Legislative
  • Judicial

Unfortunately, today we have a fourth branch of government:

  • Administrative (or maybe called the Regulatory branch)

How did this happen?

The founders probably could not have anticipated this happening. In the day and age of the writing of the US Constitution, it was not anticipated that regulations would need to be created that were so specific that the Congressmen themselves could not write the words (or at least with the help of some assistants).

The Law Is Explained to AOC and Garcia

The Law Is Explained to AOC and Garcia

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jesús García interview Tom Homan, of ICE. They not only mischaracterize the law but insult the integrity of the man.

Thomas Douglas Homan is an American police officer and government official who served as Acting Director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from January 30, 2017 to June 29, 2018.

Later in the interview, Mr. Homan was called a racist to which he responded, “If you notice, I hesitated a minute before I started yelling? Because I actually think about getting up and throwing that man a beating right there in the middle of the room because when you tell somebody that’s spent their career saving lives that I don’t care about dying children and I’m a racist, that’s where I broke and that’s where I had enough,”

Jesús García of Illinois slammed Homan over the family separations at the southern border, “Do you have children? How can you possibly allow this to happen under your watch? Do you not care? Is it because these children don’t look like children that are around you? I don’t get it. Have you ever held a deceased child in your arms?”

Homan called the remarks “disgusting” and challenged Congressman Garcia, “What I’ve been trying to do my 34 years serving the nation is to save lives,” he said, referring to his past as a police officer, border patrol agent and investigator with Immigration and Naturalization Services, a predecessor agency. So for you to sit there and insult my integrity and my love for my country, and my children ― that’s why this whole thing needs to be fixed. And you’re the member of Congress. Fix it.”

Lock them up and throw away the key

Lock them up and throw away the key

Surveillance cameras inside the store show about 60 boys and girls storming into the Walgreens at around 10 p.m. on 4th of July in Philadelphia.

This is a terrible display of wanton destruction and disregard for the law, personal safety, and personal property.

I am sure with all of these images, they will catch all of them. The solution is simple – lock them up for a LONG time.

This is organized crime. These young people gathered at this Walgreens and knew they were going to vandalize it and do massive robbery. By their sheer size of numbers, the employees of the Walgreens were unable to stop the destruction and it appears that objects were thrown at them by some of the hoodlums. Since they were are colluding together, they should all include the charge of aggravated assault on top of their acts of inciting a mob, vandalism, armed robbery, and trespassing.

There are so many good things going on in America but this is a prime example of what is bad.

Excellent comments by a 26-year-old on Facebook

An excellent view of America by a 26-year-old young lady from a Facebook post. Well written thoughts.

“I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of Democratic candidates calling for policies to “fix” the so-called injustices of capitalism.

I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook’s, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me.

We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times.

Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.

Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.”

Never saw American prosperity. Let that sink in. When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Now, I’m not attributing Miss Ocasio-Cortez’s words to outright dishonesty. I do think she whole-heartedly believes the words she said to be true. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided. My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let’s just say I didn’t have the popular opinion, but I digress.

Let me lay down some universal truths really quick. The United States of America has lifted more people out of abject poverty, spread more freedom and democracy, and has created more innovation in technology and medicine than any other nation in human history. Not only that but our citizenry continually breaks world records with charitable donations, the rags to riches story is not only possible in America but not uncommon, we have the strongest purchasing power on earth, and we encompass 25% of the world’s GDP.

The list goes on. However, these universal truths don’t matter. We are told that income inequality is an existential crisis (even though this is not an indicator of prosperity, some of the poorest countries in the world have low-income inequality), we are told that we are oppressed by capitalism (even though it’s brought about more freedom and wealth to the most people than any other system in world history), we are told that the only way we will acquire the benefits of true prosperity is through socialism and centralization of federal power (even though history has proven time and again this only brings tyranny and suffering).

Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity?

We have people who are dying to get into our country. People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they’ve never seen prosperity, and as a result, elect politicians dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism. Why?

The answer is this, my generation has ONLY seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn’t live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, or see the rise and fall of socialism and communism. We don’t know what it’s like not to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don’t have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it’s spreading like a plague.

With the current political climate giving rise to the misguided idea of a socialist utopia, will we see the light? Or will we have to lose it all to realize that what we have now is true prosperity? Destroying the free market will undo what millions of people have died to achieve.

My generation is becoming the largest voting bloc in the country. We have an opportunity to continue to propel us forward with the gifts capitalism and democracy has given us. The other option is that we can fall into the trap of entitlement and relapse into restrictive socialist destitution. The choice doesn’t seem too hard, does it?”

$15 Minimum Wage Would Boost 17 Million Workers, Cut 1.3 Million Jobs, CBO Says

$15 Minimum Wage Would Boost 17 Million Workers, Cut 1.3 Million Jobs, CBO Says

The Congressional Budget Office analyzed the impact of lifting the $7.25 federal minimum wage to $15 by 2025. The House is expected to vote next week on a bill to lift the federal minimum.

Raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025 would increase the pay of at least 17 million people and lift 1.3 million Americans out of poverty, but also put 1.3 million (and up to 3.7 million) Americans out of work, according to a study by the Congressional Budget Office.

The CBO predicted much bigger job losses than House Democrats, who have pushed for the $15 minimum wage, expected.

So let me get this straight, the higher minimum wage was expected to lift 1.3M Americans out of poverty but plunge 1.3M (and up to 3.7M) Americans into poverty. Wow! Maybe we should just keep the federal government out of our lives and tell them to keep arguing between themselves while we live our lives in peace and raise our children.

As Mr. Reagan once said, “The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

The Paris Climate Fraud

The Paris Climate Fraud

The world signed on to a really bad agreement in Paris and the US mistakenly agreed to part of the charade so that the politicians could feel better.

I am not a Trump supporter, but it was wise for him to reverse the foolish commitment made by Mr. Obama.
