Yes, it is too bad. I used to really enjoy Leno and Johnny before that (yes, I am that old) but I don’t enjoy Conan at this time slot. I would (rarely) watch him when he was much later and at that hour I could tolerate him (although he was not nearly as good as his predecessor – David Letterman).

I haven’t watched Conan in weeks. Life is too short to watch bad TV (and most of it is bad).

I occassionally watched Conan after Leno and found his antics amusing. He more often than not tickled my funny bone. So, I thought I’d give him a shot on the Tonight Show. Came to a quick conclusion: this is not the slot for him. He is actually less funny than I ever thought he could be. Big shoes to fill and he ain’t filling them. Sad. The Tonight Show is a different animal and I see him unceremoniously kicked out on his can. Nice try but it ain’t going work. Should never have left NYC.

I agree! Conan is boring! He’s nothing like Leno or Letterman . I watched his show last night and it was so boring and not funny. Sorry :0(

Yes, I appreciate Conan’s humor. I would watch him occasionally at the old time slot but that was limited as I am on the East coast timezone and do have a regular job that I need to get up and perform at. Even though I watched him, I never thought that he was at the same level as Jay or David and in fact was lower than the canceled shows by Arsenio and Dennis (if you can’t tell from this site, I am a Dennis Miller fan).

He just doesn’t have the stones to compete with Dave on a nightly basis. The Tonight Show is in trouble and the producers will need to act quickly to save it.

Were you a Conan fan before this? If not, it’s not surprising you don’t “get” Conan. He’s quirky and odd and not nearly as good a stand-up comedian as Leno. But he’s a much better interviewer than Leno or Letterman, is very quick and witty, and terrific with self-deprecating humor.

Monday was not his best work, that’s for sure. But Friday wasn’t Leno’s best either. Spectacle shows that get the host out of his natural rhythm are never as good. Conan was much better Tuesday and Wednesday.

But I’ll have to agree, his future is tenuous. His quirky humor worked great at 12:35am but maybe not so good at 11:35am and especially after Leno.
